The tale "Alpheus' Journey", written by Effie Panagopoulou and illustrated by Chrisa Roma, was premiered at the Xystri Theme Park on Friday evening, 10th of June 2022 as the opening event of the 1st International Ancient Faia Festival.
The festival, which was built around the myth of Alpheus and Arethousa, aimed to promote the wider area of Pyrgos through culture, tourism, and environmental awareness.
The fairy tale was brought to life with an incredible dramatization choreographed by Natasha Zoumi and performed by a group of 60 dancers aged between 3 and 23 years old.
The book, an adaptation of the myth tailored for primary school students, was also translated into Italian by Kelly Ragdaki.
The primary school students in the Municipality of Pyrgos were delighted to receive a special distribution of the book.
This was an incredible opportunity for the students to gain access to valuable literature that enhanced their education. The distribution of the book was a success, and we are proud to have been able to provide this opportunity to the students!
